Publishing Services

Data Capture

Thuriam can capture data from manuscripts, database, print and other media. Depending on the source, the data is captured using proprietary software, Scan and OCR, and/or double-pass keying. Data is guaranteed to be 99.995% accurate.

Copy Editing

Thuriam copy editing ensures proper spelling, grammar, punctuation and usage while maintaining consistent style and tone, with emphasis on succinct phrasing and language.  Unless otherwise requested for, The Chicago Manual of Style is followed for copy editing.

Copy editing is usually done in Microsoft Word. SGML/XML copyediting is done with Corel XMetal 3.0.

Page Composition / Digital Typesetting

Thuriam has a large workforce of highly qualified staff with several years of experience in various tools used for composition and related services. Page composition services is restricted to publishers of 6-12 grade, college and professional books and journals.

Composition services are available for several European languages like German, French, and Spanish. The following software are used for providing these services in Macintosh and Microsoft Windows platforms:

Proofreading

Two rounds of electronic proofs and corrections are included along with page composition and is not charged separately. Proofs are provided in PDF format and/or black laser printout. Color laser prints carry an additional charge.

Artwork Rendering and Image Processing

At Thuriam, a whole range of illustrations, correction of halftones, scanning and redrawing of artwork is done using:

Thuriam has developed several applications to tailor made to meet publishers specific requirements. E.g., search engine for XML documents, context sensitive dictionary, automated conversion for math tags.

CD-ROM Publishing

Using FolioViews, AuthorWare, Macromedia Director, Flash we can develop/take your storyboard to the CD-ROM.

Web Publishing

Thuriam uses Java scripts, ASP.Net, Macromedia Flash and other web publishing tools to create or enhance delivery of books and journals over the web. E.g. Zousho, an XML publishing tool with Digital Rights Management

Data Conversion

Thuriam offers some of the most advanced data conversion services in the world. Its proprietary software, along with stringent quality checking process allows Thuriam to offer low-cost, high quality data conversion services with quick turn-around time. While it caters to journal publishers who demand 6 hour turnaround time, the norm is to provide journals in 24 to 48 hours and books and back data in 7 days.
